Staff Global Supply Manager – Interiors Seating
Lucid is creating the most captivating luxury electric vehicles, and we need a Staff Global Supply Manager to drive the sourcing, development, and delivery of interiors seating parts worldwide. You will partner with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality, and Manufacturing to build world‑class products on time and cost‑effectively.
What you'll do- Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify suppliers that meet Lucid’s expectations and timelines.
- Create RFQs, review and analyze quotations, and develop sourcing and business recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead‑time, and technical considerations.
- Negotiate favorable contracts, including part pricing, tooling costs, and Engineering Services (NRE/EDT).
- Work with suppliers and Engineering to release parts into production and issue POs for prototype parts and prototype/production tooling.
- Manage supplier development and tooling timelines, maintaining part availability for prototype builds and start of production, and develop solutions for delays or problems.
- Maintain overall supplier relationships and act as the commercial point of contact, including internal report‑outs summarizing sourcing status, parts availability, and cost status.
- Travel 15‑25% to visit suppliers for business and program reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, supply chain, or finance discipline with a minimum of 8 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience; a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience is acceptable.
- 8 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience in the automotive industry, preferably involving seat structures, stamping and welded assemblies, complete seat supply chains, comfort/heat mechanisms, and seat covers.
- Experience with related automotive technologies such as injection molding, stamping, welding, cut & sew wrapping/assembly, compression molding, cover stocks, Class‑A painted surfaces, and/or plastic chroming.
- Prior experience with a major tier‑1 seating manufacturer and subsequent transition to commercial roles.
- Experience working in a tier‑1 JIT factory.
- Minimum 5 years of cost engineering experience across multiple cost‑breakdown templates.
- Enthusiasm and curiosity for understanding the manufacturing processes on assigned interiors seating commodities.
- Product launch experience with strong knowledge of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.
- Program management skills, including experience creating Gantt charts with MS Project.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team‑first mindset, and the ability to resolve problems, cascade best practices, and deliver optimal results.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills; passion for results, strategy, and ownership.
- Creative, calculated risk‑taker with the ability to manage complex suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational and program management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
- Prior experience in rotations‑based leadership programs (preferred).
This role is 100% onsite at our Phoenix, AZ office and does not offer a remote or hybrid option.
