Assistant Project Manager – Drinking Water Treatment

Your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience by delivering safe drinking water, responsibly treating wastewater, and protecting lives and property through flood control. Our Phoenix, Arizona office seeks an Assistant Project Manager focused on Drinking Water Treatment. The primary duties include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of small to medium multi‑disciplinary projects with varying technical complexity. You will independently coordinate work of engineers, environmental specialists, CAD, and GIS professionals to develop detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for drinking water treatment projects and related systems.
This position also supports drinking water treatment business development initiatives.
- Coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team throughout a project's development under the supervision of a Project Manager for larger or more complex projects.
- Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with all disciplines.
- Coordinate workload throughout the project development and complete documents on schedule.
- Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller, and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- PMP certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5 years of related experience.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
- MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus).
