Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a GIS Specialist to provide analytical and consulting support for U.S. State Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on cartography, mapping, data management and maintenance, as well as the design and implementation of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri‑based software. This includes support for Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise platforms, Business Systems Integration, and visualization tools.
The role sits within the Global Mobility Business Area, where we design thriving, connected cities and communities that provide opportunity for all and keep the world moving.
Role AccountabilitiesThe ideal candidate will maintain line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems and analyze datasets within an LRS network (centerlines, routes, calibration points). They will perform mapping, cartography, and visualization of GIS datasets using Esri technologies, and maintain data required for Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports.
The candidate will design business processes for Workflow Manager (WMX), develop Data Reviewer checks to validate data conversion and creation processes, and manage GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices.
Additional responsibilities include using Event Editor (EE) sites on ArcGIS Server to maintain GIS data, parsing REST service calls to interrogate enterprise databases, and designing and developing geoprocessing models using Model Builder and Python. The candidate will also work with FME to translate geospatial data and will function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey
123, etc.). - Proficiency with Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
- Strong knowledge of linear referencing concepts.
- Familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
- Demonstrated analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
- Experience with Asset Management software and concepts.
- Advanced analytics and data visualization techniques.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for this position.

Salary range for this position is $57,786 – $99,392; actual salaries vary by experience, education, budget, and location.
