Hot Foot Recruiters is excited to partner with a well-established consulting engineering firm to hire a Bilingual Senior Mechanical Designer (Mandarin/English). This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate mechanical/plumbing system designs for a wide range of construction projects, including educational, medical, institutional, and commercial buildings. If you have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and fluency in Mandarin, this role is an excellent fit for you.

Pay Range: $80,000 – $120,000/year

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate mechanical and plumbing systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, LEED).
• Develop basis of design narratives, perform load calculations, and create construction design documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Manage project workflows and deliverables, delegating work effectively to production staff and providing mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and contractors to define project requirements and present engineering solutions.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in mechanical/plumbing systems by communicating with manufacturers and contractors.
• Oversee construction administration tasks to ensure successful project outcomes, including submittal reviews and field inspections.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Mandarin and English speaking is a MUST!
• Minimum of 10 years designing mechanical/plumbing systems in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Trane Trace load calculations, HVAC system layouts, plumbing system equipment, and piping layout.
• Familiarity with software tools such as COMcheck, Excel, One Note, and Word.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to lead and mentor team members, and effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to professional growth.
