This is a full‑time, split‑schedule (3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off) limited‑term position for a duration of 12 months, extendable.
The ideal candidate has general safety experience, preferably in manufacturing or high‑tech environments. Knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, Job Hazard Analysis, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Assessment processes, Contractor Safety Management, Lean Manufacturing principles, and waste management (hazardous, non‑hazardous, universal, electronic) is required. Basic chemical safety knowledge and familiarity with Six Sigma safety methods are preferred. Supervisory experience, coaching, training, and the ability to assess and motivate direct reports are essential.
Responsibilities- Manage and update the Daily 6S Safety Audit Log – monitor, correct and track issues until closed; identify corrective actions to close audit findings.
- Maintain accurate records and analyze data in Excel; edit and present high quality presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint; utilize Outlook and Teams for communication, calendar management and scheduling meetings.
- Provide weekly activity reports to EHS Managers and Senior Specialists.
- Support and attend Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walks monthly or as needed.
- Support the Emergency Action Plan and conduct drills as scheduled.
- Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental regulatory requirements, client standards, or management systems.
- Assist with near‑miss/incident investigation processes as requested by Client EHS personnel.
- Verify correct use of Dräger equipment and PPE; ensure shark cages are organized, secure and stocked with required supplies.
- Voice workers’ safety needs; elevate issues and provide improvement ideas and feedback to the Site Sr. EHS Specialist weekly.
- Provide training, field coaching and targeted EHS assessments to improve safety performance.
- Develop EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits and reports.
- Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma safety methods preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Existing or pursuing Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP) certification is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting processes.
- Requires the use of a Tyvek bunny suit as part of the standard protective gear in controlled environments.
- Effective written and verbal communication, organization, and analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical data and reports is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
