We are seeking a proactive Industrial Safety & Risk Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) frameworks. This role is a vital pillar in our commitment to a “zero-harm” culture, ensuring total compliance with federal and state regulations while mitigating risks during both the active build‑out and the long‑term operation of our new manufacturing complex.
Based initially at our Tempe and Peoria, AZ sites, you will oversee construction safety management before transitioning to a permanent safety leadership role within our Peoria factory operations.
- Hazard Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for both heavy construction activities and high‑tech manufacturing workflows. - Compliance Oversight:
Ensure the site maintains 100% adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and internal corporate safety standards. - ISO 45001 Stewardship:
Lead the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management system, ensuring all documentation is audit‑ready. - Field Operations & Auditing – Site Inspections:
Perform rigorous, regular site walkthroughs to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend immediate corrective actions. - Incident Management:
Lead on‑site emergency response support and conduct deep‑dive incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. - Reporting:
Prepare and maintain all EHS‑related documentation, including training logs, inspection results, and injury/illness records. - Safety Training:
Design and deliver engaging safety orientations and technical training sessions for a diverse workforce of employees and contractors. - Cross‑Functional Synergy:
Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to refine work methods and equipment usage, ensuring safety is integrated into every process.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Professional
Experience:
3+ years in EHS compliance or safety engineering, specifically within large‑scale construction or high‑precision manufacturing environments. - Regulatory Mastery:
Robust knowledge of OSHA standards and NFPA codes. - Software Proficiency:
Experience with MS Office and specialized EHS management software. - Field Capability:
Ability to climb ladders, work at elevations, navigate confined spaces, and work in varied weather conditions. - Physical Fitness:
Regularly able to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain medical qualification for respirator use. - Industry Background:
Previous experience in cleanroom operations or high‑tech facility safety is a significant advantage. - Preferred
Certifications:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP); OSHA 30‑Hour (General or Construction Industry) certification;
Experience with ISO 45001 audits.
