Mechanical Piping Designer (VDC Designer)

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this Full‑time, Non‑Exempt position is based remotely. The Designer supports complex construction projects through the creation, maintenance, and coordination of detailed 3D models in Revit, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals. Preferred experience includes HVAC and mechanical piping, and the role is responsible for ensuring model accuracy, supporting BIM processes, and aiding field operations through remote coordination.

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D models using Revit, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure consistency and coordination across disciplines.
• Use clash detection software such as Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts between building systems.
• Coordinate closely with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams to ensure integrated, clash‑free designs.
• Provide remote coordination and support for field operations, ensuring accurate integration of 3D scans and field data into project models.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation, drawings, and schedules required by project teams.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of all models, adhering to project standards and deadlines.
• Stay current with advancements in BIM and VDC technologies, applying knowledge to improve modeling processes and project outcomes.
• Utilize collaboration tools such as BIM
  360 to enhance communication and model accessibility.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in VDC/BIM and construction modeling.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in HVAC, mechanical/piping disciplines.
• Proficiency in Revit is required, with the ability to create and manage detailed 3D models.
• Familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM
  360 is preferred.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and their integration into the modeling process.
• Experience with ACC is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve design and coordination challenges.
