DescriptionGrace Design Studios is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Phoenix office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, utilizing your skills in Revit and AutoCAD to create innovative and efficient designs.
Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the success and quality of our projects, making this role integral to our operations.
- Develop, design, and implement mechanical systems for commercial construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to create detailed 2D or 3D designs.
- Collaborate with a team of architects, engineers, and other professionals on project planning and implementation.
- Compile discipline‑specific man‑hour estimates and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client‑provided project scope. Manage and forecast man‑hour requirements and schedules associated with discipline‑specific project scope.
- Develop conceptual and detailed engineering design packages, including drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Analyze mechanical systems for potential improvements and redesigns.
- Ensure all mechanical designs meet the requirements of the project and comply with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure the mechanical systems are implemented correctly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems related to mechanical design.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills by attending workshops, researching emerging trends in the construction industry, and studying product design.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering, required.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial buildings.
- Ability to perform a building HVAC load analysis.
- Proficiency in Revit required.
- Proven experience with HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- In‑depth understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industry regulations.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
