The

Opportunity
  • Function in a technical specialist capacity under general supervision, performing all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis.
  • Broaden knowledge and skill set in the discipline and may start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.
  • Develop electrical design for water/wastewater projects.
  • Develop a variety of complex engineering deliverables including one‑line diagrams, schematics, power and lighting plans, electrical installation details, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with regional and global design teams.
  • Continuously learn and develop technical expertise/specialty area.
  • Do project studies – energy optimization, power system coordination and arc‑flash hazard analysis, and electrical reliability analysis.
  • Perform construction inspection and resolve electrical construction issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continue to learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies and procedures.
  • Continue developing and apply knowledge independently; comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks; support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Prepare a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables; perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection; collect, assimilate, and manage data; prepare increasingly complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles; and understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Assign tasks to develop entry‑level professionals and interns; coordinate with project leadership and other internal/external team members on less complex projects; interact as needed with other disciplines on design details.
  • Work to understand external client interests and drivers through regular interaction and communication; also focus on needs of internal clients and project leadership; may provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
  • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
  • Assist with performance management processes, recognition, and corrective actions as skills develop; actively mentor entry‑level professionals and interns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
  • 3 years in electrical design, planning, and construction services within the water/wastewater industry.
  • Consulting and water/wastewater experience.
  • Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other industry analysis software.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification and pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program; a minimum of one year of related work experience; and the ability to complete required pre‑employment onboarding, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record searches.
