SummaryWe are seeking an Electrical Engineer (Medium/High Voltage) to join our team. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain electrical systems in a cleanroom environment, ensuring compliance with semiconductor production regulations and standards. Experience in electrical construction is highly desired.
Position is onsite in North Phoenix, AZ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform requirements classification of clients, communicating project requirements and design review with internal & external design team for Electrical systems.
- Clarify scope of work and specifications with stakeholders.
- Assist procurement team on electrical system equipment & materials and support contractors’ awards.
- Interpret isometrics, P&, and CAD drawings for electrical systems.
- Review, approve, and oversee installation of electrical systems.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms with specifications and construction schedules are met.
- Review progress reports, material usage, costs, contract payment applications, and adjust work schedules as needed.
- Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) and change orders.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal use and client communication.
- Identify and solve problems.
- Schedule and execute project milestones.
- Understand drawings, review specifications, and perform estimation.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 1‑3+ years of experience in electrical system planning.
- Construction experience required; semiconductor construction experience a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of high and medium voltage power, lighting sockets, fire protection power, broadcasting, weak current, refuse direction indicator, and grounding/lightning protection systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to use engineering software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or equivalents.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with high attention to detail.
- Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong prioritization and presentation skills for managers and employees.
- Ability to maintain successful relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
- Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines on a construction site environment.
- Effective English verbal and written communication;
Mandarin/Taiwanese is a plus. - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
Nice to have
- Verbal communication skills in Mandarin.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- May be required to travel within Arizona or internationally.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for transporting documents, equipment, and other materials as needed. The role involves extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting while working at a computer. Frequent movement between the construction trailer and various areas of the construction site is necessary.
The position is based at the construction job site (trailer office). Exposure to typical construction site hazards such as dust, moving machinery, weather, caustic chemicals, and noise is possible. UIS will provide required safety protection to ensure employee safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
