Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, HPC's two EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3.26GW of secure, low carbon electricity for 60 years, enough electricity to power around 6 million homes. Amentum are currently recruiting a Piping Design Engineer who will focus on supporting field design activities for the piping discipline within the HPC project. The role involves managing interfaces with multiple disciplines and resolving piping engineering issues encountered during on-site installation of pipework and associated supports. The engineer will ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards and project milestones while maintaining EPR-E procedures.

The main tasks will include both Piping Design tasks and Mechanical Calculation tasks:

• Engaging with various stakeholders (installation contractors, CW interfaces, other disciplines) to clarify issues
• Producing site request technical assessment (RFI, FCR, NCR) concerning design issues on piping, support and anchorage scopes.
• Contributing to other teams (Layout, Transverse, etc…) by providing piping assessments or general guidance as required.
• Proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications if sizing criteria are not met.
• Closing open points and comments. o Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed over to JDO
• Maintaining EPR-E’s QA procedures in delivering the design. o Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings
