Accounting Consultant – Revenue & Regulatory Accounting (Full‑time)

Arizona Public Service is seeking an Accounting Consultant to join our Revenue & Regulatory Accounting Team. In this role you will manage accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance related to revenue and regulatory matters, supporting ACC and FERC regulatory matters.

Summary

The accountant consultant will support ACC Retail Rate Cases, ACC Rate making Policies, Formula Rates, other regulatory adjustor mechanisms, revenue recognition, jurisdictional financials and compliance filing matters. You will act as an F&A liaison across the organization, partnering with stakeholders on scenario analysis, strategy, decision‑making, alignment, and communication.

BS degree in accounting, finance or related field.
5 years of experience (2 years preferred in an electric‑utility environment) or equivalent education and experience.
MBA, MS in Accounting or CPA certification preferred.
Thorough knowledge of accounting theory (GAAP), FERC and ACC requirements, and accounting systems.
Strong analytical, research and problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.
Broad business perspective and consulting skills.

Major Accountabilities

Prepares accurate and timely financial reports including participant billings, rate case studies and responses to information requests.

Analyzes and reconciles complex accounts and reports, maintaining financial reporting systems.

Performs complex economic studies to evaluate business issues, proposals and alternatives.

Models financial activity to produce corporate financial targets and forecasts.

Supports regulatory and competitive strategies, analysis and findings.

Contributes to department policies, procedures, accounting manuals and FERC regulations.

Hybrid Work

Hybrid employees work virtually and in person. Employees are expected to spend about 40% of their time on‑site, as required by business needs. Applicants must reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners employees) and have suitable home‑office technology and ergonomics.
