Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our relationship-focused firm and play a key role in delivering exceptional tax support to our clients, including individuals, small businesses, trust and estate clients. • Prepare and review individual, business, and trust income tax returns
• Research and resolve tax‑related questions and issues
• Assist with gathering and organizing client data for tax planning and compliance
• Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and changes to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
• Support the team in delivering timely and thorough tax services across a variety of client types
• Communicate directly with clients to collect documentation and explain tax matters
• Represent clients in IRS and state correspondence matters, with support from senior team members
• Work with tax software including Quick Books, Lacerte, TPS, Adobe, and Microsoft Office
• Help ensure internal procedures and documentation standards are followed

The ideal candidate is an Enrolled Agent who has 3–5 years of experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, or tax services—preferably working with high‑net‑worth individuals or families—and is skilled in preparing individual, business, and trust tax returns. They possess a solid understanding of current tax regulations and best practices, with experience in trusts and estates considered a strong advantage. Proficiency in Quick Books, Lacerte, TPS, Adobe, and Microsoft Office is essential.

This role offers a hybrid schedule, requiring three days weekly in the office. Applicants should be located near one of our hubs (Fairfield, IA or Phoenix, AZ) and must be willing to work this schedule. Cambridge is not considering remote candidates for this role at this time.
