About the Role

As a CBRE Underwriter, you are responsible for performing all due diligence necessary to make informed recommendation to loan committee regarding the risks and mitigates for securing multifamily loans.

What You’ll Do
  • Evaluate the risk involved with issuing short-term loans for multifamily properties.

  • Assess the property's worth, including its current market value and potential After Repair Value (ARV).

  • Examine the property's ability to generate sufficient income to cover loan payments and other expenses, often through discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling.

  • Understand the local market conditions, including occupancy rate, rental rate, and competition, to assess the property's long-term potential.

  • Review the borrower's financial history, experience, and overall financial capacity to repay the loan.

  • Ensure all required documentation is in order and the loan complies with the applicable regulations and guidelines.

  • Other related tasks include credit and real estate analysis, processing incoming exhibits and preparing final delivery of investor packages.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.

  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What You’ll Need

To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years' experience in the evaluation of commercial real estate properties including property inspections, reviewing financial statements, and underwriting loan transactions.

  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
