Senior Specialist, Senior Accountant – Shared Financial Services
Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental United States;
Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Position SummaryPerform accounting functions for chapters who have elected to use Shared Financial Services (SFS) to ensure financials are recorded accurately and timely.
Knowledge and Abilities- Knowledge of financial accounting including GAAP and financial statement preparation to ensure accurate, efficient, timely financial reporting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to network with other departments within the organization, as well as externally, regarding issues related to the financial reporting process.
- Familiarity with audit planning processes and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and information systems applications, preferably in a non‑profit environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of trust and confidentiality and possess strong business ethics.
- Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize, and effectively handle multiple assignments in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Support chapters in accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Review and approve donation batches that have integrated into Net Suite from Raiser's Edge.
- Review check requests for proper coding and approvals.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review trial balances for accuracy and completeness.
- Record and post journal entries for monthly financial activity.
- Prepare and analyze financial reporting packages including monthly variance reports.
- Review, research, and analyze data; respond to inquiries from chapter staff.
- Assist with gathering information and documents for the annual audit process; help prepare chapter audit workbooks and act as point of contact for assigned chapters.
- Assist with creating custom reports and queries in Net Suite and/or Excel as requested.
- Build and maintain relationships with chapters.
- Lead month‑end close process, run meetings, and serve as main point of contact for a portfolio of chapters.
- Identify ways to improve processes to be more efficient and effective.
- Provide support and direction for Accountants and Support Team staff.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Minimum two years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required, including demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in Salesforce and Net Suite strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations strongly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a remote environment.
- Some travel required.
- May require work outside a traditional Monday–Friday work week, and outside normal business hours.
Hiring Range: $56,287 – $66,220 USD
