- Max $66,750.00 - $85,625.00 - $Job Type Unclassified Department Sheriff About  the Position The Finance Business Analyst assists in the daily operations of diverse financial related duties within the Finance Division of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. This position may supervise or oversee the work of administrative and/or accounting staff .The MCSO Finance Division recognizes the importance of an effective work/life balance in order to achieve optimal results and retain high-performing employees.

Therefore, after successful completion of onboarding and training, the incumbent in this position will be provided with the opportunity to work an alternative schedule and/or  addition to completive salary and benefits, the MCSO Finance Division values growth and progression amongst its team members. Position Qualifications We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications:

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

Experience Two (2) years of professional level finance experience.

Combined education and experience qualifications

Other combinations of education or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.

Other requirements

Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.

Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700;
Safety;
Payroll; PREA.Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Our Preferred Candidate has

Experience with governmental and/or fund accounting concepts and government budgeting.

Experience working in a high-volume general ledger environment.

Prepares and posts journal vouchers for any necessary corrections.

Completes various reconciliation analyses.

Reviews and investigates the financial and operational impact of multiple operational activities and compiles summary reports for end users.

Investigates discrepancies proactively, problem solves, provides recommendations based on sound accounting practices, and applies resolution as appropriate.

Maintains ledgers, registers, records of initial entry, and control accounts.
