Healthcare employer in Phoenix, Arizona seeks to hire an additional Neurologist to their busy physician team.

This Neurologist will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes the provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses related to the nervous system.

Advanced Fellowships in Sleep, Stroke and/or Movement Disorders a plus for this position but not required.

Essential Functions:

• Assess health status of pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients through health history, taking physical examination and diagnostic tests
• Develop and implement plans for providing treatment of illness or injury related to the nervous system, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzheimer’s disease
• Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with credentialing/privileging policy. Including but not limited to:
• Dementia Screening
• Electroencephalogram or Video EEG
• Videonystagnography (VNG) for vertigo testing
• Electromyograph (EMG)
• Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service
• Responsible for documenting patient information and visit information into Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely manner
• Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations
• Provide consultation to nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners
