Day-to-Day Pharmacy Operations
  • Where state and federal laws and regulations allow, accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities; ensures efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
  • Responsible for operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the pharmacist’s supervision within company policies, laws, regulations, and ethics.
  • Responsible for selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Leads training, coaching, and performance management, including discipline and termination decisions.
Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves complaints and responds promptly to non‑clinical questions. Models and shares customer service best practices.
  • Develops strong relationships by anticipating customer needs and proactively offering services to ensure the best experience possible. Enhances experience by increasing focus on healthcare services.
Operations
  • Assists pharmacist in patient care: registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification. Completes patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision and assists with authorized health services such as vaccines and screenings.
  • Delegates, directs, and assigns non‑clinical work within company policies, state and federal laws, ensuring timely completion.
  • Prepares and files reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
  • Manages core workflow, coordinates daily schedule, recommends hour allocation, and ensures the pharmacy is clean and stocked.
  • Handles business administrative activities, inventory management, and annual inventory preparation.
  • Drives technology and process roll‑out, champions change, and engages the team.
  • Ensures compliance with Good Faith Dispensing and other company policies.
  • Maintains asset protection knowledge and supports diversion monitoring.
  • Communicates prescription errors and follows continuous quality improvement procedures.
  • Processes insurance claims accurately and follows up with providers and auditors.
  • Supports financial analysis and quality improvement in collaboration with Store and Pharmacy Managers.
  • Manages community outreach portal, assigns pharmacists to off‑site immunization clinics, and maintains retail partnerships.
People & Performance Management
  • Leads performance management of technicians, using constructive discipline policy for attendance, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Accounts for hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitors training completion.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps and supports training through hands‑on instruction or learning modules.
  • Ensures licenses, registrations, and certifications are active and compliant.
  • Follows company policy for recruitment, record retention, and training.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB certification via designated training program or state requirement.
  • Enhances current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtains necessary certifications and training such as LTMP e‑modules and follows performance improvement plans.
  • Seeks professional development, solicits feedback, and works with a mentor and coach.
Communication
  • Communicates with the pharmacy team and relays messages from support center.
  • Participates in store/pharmacy meetings including brief check‑ins with the Store Manager.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willing to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous people‑management or leadership experience.
  • Prior Walgreens employment with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

Salary Range:
Hourly – $22.50 per hour to $31.00 per hour. The actual hourly salary will depend on geography, skills, experience, and other factors.
