Research Technician II, Basic Medical Sciences (Temporary) (College of Medicine-Phoenix)
University of Arizona – Join the laboratory of Dr. Suwon Kim studying cancer biology. This full‑time temporary position requires a well‑rounded, enthusiastic individual trained in basic molecular and cell biological techniques. Experience with rodents is preferred but not required.
Position Highlights- Full‑time, temporary laboratory technician role.
- Opportunity to work in a cutting‑edge cancer biology lab.
- Work under the supervision of the PI and perform day‑to‑day experiments including tissue culture, DNA, RNA, protein isolation/analysis, cloning, and mouse experiments.
- Record results in laboratory notebooks or data folders.
- Communicate results to the PI promptly and discuss follow‑up experiments and troubleshooting.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data figures.
- Help set up standard laboratory operations and manage laboratory resources, including reagents and equipment.
- Facilitate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
- Assist with orientation and training of new lab personnel.
- Provide routine and technical administrative support to lab operations.
- Write and update standard laboratory operating procedures and protocols.
- Oversee RLSS compliance for all lab members.
- Clear, concise communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to set up and perform a variety of lab or field tests and operations.
- Experience recording results, making observations, analyzing data, and interpreting test results.
- Research knowledge and experience (internship, independent study).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field.
- Molecular biology experience.
- Experience with rodent surgery.
