Health Care Compliance Officer - Registered Dietician - Long Term Care
Arizona Department of Health Services is seeking a Health Care Compliance Officer – Registered Dietitian to support Long Term Care licensing services. This full‑time position (Grade 20) carries an annual salary of $57,750.
Job SummaryPerform activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Long‑Term Care Facilities Licensing. Assist with issuing and maintaining licenses for facilities and providers to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Conduct initial and annual recertification inspections, review quality systems and investigate complaints. Correspond with regulated community and respond to technical questions. Perform investigations, prepare reports, and conduct inspections.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret statutes, rules, and internal procedures; conduct inspections and investigations to determine compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare investigation reports and inspection documentation.
- Attend staff and advisory committee meetings.
- Provide technical assistance to providers and consumers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (5–10%).
- Federal regulations, Arizona Administrative Code, Arizona Revised Statutes.
- Facility management and operational concepts.
- Performance Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Lean methodologies.
- Review and interpret professional literature and regulations.
- High level of oral and written communication, analytical review, interpersonal relationships, active listening, organizational skills.
- Travel and change priorities as issues arise; perform reviews and analyze data.
- Associate’s degree with experience in a licensed or regulated setting, or experience working for a regulatory agency.
- Professional license to practice in Arizona (e.g., Registered Dietitian) or proof of eligibility for reciprocity of an out‑of‑state license.
- Driver’s license and ability to travel statewide.
- Valid level one fingerprint clearance card (must apply within 7 working days after beginning employment).
