Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Senior Medical Science Liaison, Immunology (Dermatology) to be based in the Southwest territory which includes Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada (Las Vegas), and Utah.
About ImmunologyOur Immunology team leads in the development of transformational medicines for immunological disorders and illnesses. Visionaries like you work on teams that save lives by developing the medicines of tomorrow. The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) is responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective scientific information and education to opinion leaders (OLs), healthcare professionals, and internal partners. The Sr. MSL is considered an established scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products per Therapeutic Area (TA) alignment.
The Sr. MSL stays abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends, provides research support for company and investigator‑initiated research, and functions with high integrity following credo values.
- Build external relationships with identified OLs and HCPs (MD, PA, NP, RN, Pharm.
D., biocoordinators) and manage a geographic territory. Engage in both virtual and in‑person interactions, prioritizing in‑person when appropriate. - Develop and maintain a territory strategic plan, including educational activities with identified OLs, HCPs, institutions, and community practices.
- Respond promptly to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, academic medical centers, and population health decision‑makers, integrating scientific data including real‑world evidence into practice.
- Present data and information appropriately for the audience and request.
- Execute proactive and reactive outreach plans approved via the legal/HCC exceptions process.
- Integrate scientific data into real‑life practice, adapting interpersonal style to situations and individuals.
- Prioritize franchise customer‑based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties and project requirements.
- Leverage knowledge of standards of care and Janssen company/investigator‑sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external‑internal research communication.
- Engage with external investigators on unsolicited research inquiries and act as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs and operations teams.
- Provide clinical trial support, identify potential sites, resolve site issues, and participate in site initiation visits and investigator launch meetings.
- Lead at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project, identifying educational gaps and elevating team acumen.
- Actively participate in team calls, trainings, journal clubs, and share scientific news.
- Attend scientific conferences, congresses, symposia, advisory boards, and investigator meetings, representing JNJ.
- Perform all administrative requirements accurately and compliantly, including expense reports and activity documentation.
- Support regional and local sales training initiatives, enhancing competencies of field personnel in partnership with Sales Learning and Development.
