Position Summary

This position oversees the daily activities of the medication management processes in outpatient pharmacy services and provides comprehensive pharmacy services to patients from neonate to young adulthood while performing the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and Phoenix Children’s. Clinical Pharmacists ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. This position reports directly to the Manager of Outpatient Pharmacy Services for daily staffing, operations duties, and annual evaluation.

The position receives supervision from the Clinical Pharmacist Lead, and is professionally accountable to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy and the Chief of Pharmacy Services.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or Doctorate Degree (Pharm.

    D) in Pharmacy. (Required)
Experience
  • One (1) year experience in an outpatient or hospital pharmacy practice or equivalent. (Preferred)
  • Experience with information systems and automated and technical equipment. (Required)
  • One (1) year previous pediatric patient population experience or equivalent. (Preferred)
Certifications
  • Current licensure as a Pharmacist or eligible, either by reciprocity or examination by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. (Required)
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Preferred)
  • Current Immunization Certificate issued by Arizona Board of Pharmacy. (Preferred)
Special Skills
  • Experience with various types of computer software, including MS Office Suite or equivalent. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with all members of the pharmacy and patient care team. (Required)
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet assigned goals. (Required)
  • Demonstrated excellence in provision of customer service. (Required)
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish - Preferred but NOT Required. (Preferred)
