The Vice President, Nursing Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for their areas of responsibility. This position maintains standards for professional practice and is responsible for execution of strategy and overall operations, including but not limited to regulatory/accreditation planning, budgeting, staffing, and quality/performance improvement efforts. This position serves as a catalyst for creating a patient care environment that fosters patient advocacy, quality clinical competence and a professional work environment.
In addition, this position is responsible for overseeing the achievement of goals related to patient experience, clinical outcomes, professional outcomes and indicators related to performance and performance improvement.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing OR a Master’s Degree in a related field with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. (Required)
- Post Master’s degree. (Preferred)
- Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in a leadership role. (Required)
- Current State of AZ RN License from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- Certified Nurse in Nursing Leadership or related Nursing Clinical Certification area. (Required)
- Knowledge and practice in a Magnet environment. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of practice in a shared governance environment. (Preferred)
- Leadership skills in interpersonal relations, group dynamics, problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiating, interviewing, observation, counseling, teaching, decision-making and implementation/evaluation skills. (Preferred)
- Performance and outcome-oriented with the ability to set both the strategic and operational direction of the department(s) in an innovative and creative manner. (Preferred)
- Relationship-management skills to include the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, physicians and other employees. (Preferred)
