Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks

• Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience and 2 years ER experience required

• Patient ratio of 1:4 in acute care setting

• Float between 4 facilities:
St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and 2 Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale (approximately 30 minutes apart, can be floated mid-shift)

• Must have own vehicle for travel between facilities

• Required to pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed, if failed, do not use for 6 months)

• Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation with study guide provided

• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail requirement)

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

• Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC not allowed to replace PALS)

• Must be able to read telemetry strips using Phillips monitors

• Use Cerner EMR system

• Work with common diagnoses including trauma, chest pain, and spinal cord injuries

• Handlepatients per day withpsych holds

• 2-3 shifts floor-specific orientation provided

• Navy scrubs required

• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean shaven for fit testing

• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This major medical center operates as a Level 1 Trauma facility serving approximately 88,000 patients annually. The emergency department features 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays with comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage. The facility maintains specialized certifications for chest pain center and spinal cord care, with minimum staffing of 2 MDs up to 8 physicians plus midlevels and anesthesia support.

The organization operates multiple locations including the main campus, Westgate campus, and free-standing emergency departments.
