Position: Audit & Appeal Analyst (Full Time)

The Payor Audits & Denials Associate is responsible for sorting, scanning and completing data entry of Audit and Denials correspondence accurately and within pre-defined time frames. In addition, this position is responsible for the data integrity of all records recorded in the Audit and Appeal software solution.

Position Details

Position Primarily Remote with Minimal On-Site Requirement

This role is primarily remote, with only occasional trips to our Springfield, Missouri office (typically twice per year) to provide backup coverage for essential mail services and support business operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Preferred Experience:

    Two years related healthcare experience in revenue cycle, health information management, auditing or patient accounting experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills to effectively work with others involved in the audit and appeal process.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and organize various tasks/projects simultaneously to ensure departmental and Mercy-wide goals are timely met.
  • Possesses integrity, imagination and initiative as evidenced by self-improvement.
  • Demonstrates personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, interest and respect for others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and their implications on the audit and appeal process.
  • Detail Oriented, Creative, results-oriented, well organized, task-driven, self-starter with high energy level, and ability to influence others
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish and carry out goals/objectives in a collaborative manner.
  • Very high personal integrity and work ethic with the ability to demonstrate and obtain.
  • Ability to travel periodically across the Ministry as required.
