CVOR Surgical Technologist Job Summary

Provides sterile and technical support during cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures. Prepares the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies while assisting the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (Preferred)
• Previous CVOR or cardiovascular surgical experience (Preferred)

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (Preferred or Required based on facility requirements)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)

• Prepares the CVOR, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
• Maintains sterile technique and assists with surgical procedures according to established standards.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and assists with surgical team needs.
• Performs instrument, sponge, and equipment counts before, during, and after procedures.
• Assists with specimen handling, surgical equipment setup, and room turnover.
• Maintains accurate documentation and follows infection control, safety, and sterile processing standards.
