We provide academic, vocational training, and placement services to approximately 9,000 young people, ages 16–24, mainly in a residential setting.
Our training programs are accredited and lead to nationally recognized credentials.
The Phoenix Job Corps Center offers students the opportunity to earn a High School Diploma or GED and receive hands‑on training in fields such as Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and technical support to the human resources function, analyze HR policy and procedures, determine applicant eligibility, and use proper judgment and discretion to resolve issues while ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Supervise and manage staff as directed and serve as Acting Human Resources Manager in the Human Resources Manager’s absence.
- Assist department heads in developing staff training and orientation programs.
- Process new‑hire paperwork, establish and maintain employee files, and ensure files are current and accurate in both personnel records and HRIS.
- Conduct reference and background checks on final applicants and administer pre‑employment tests.
- Maintain applicant flow log, complete weekly reports on employment activity, and distribute information on and explain benefits programs such as health, dental, life, disability, and 401(k). Verify and complete benefits enrollment forms and send enrollment information to plan administrators.
- Reconcile monthly insurance and drug‑screen billing.
- Assist with conducting orientation meetings for new staff.
- Type reports, memoranda, correspondence, performance appraisals, and other documents, proofreading copy and correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling, and numerical errors.
- Assist with employee recognition and certificates, monitor staff mentoring program, and provide Student Sexual Harassment Identification and Prevention Training to new student inputs on a weekly basis.
- Produce quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
- Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards; plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Proven experience in human resources administration and support.
- Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
- Ability to work independently and supervise staff when required.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and basic payroll and benefits administration.
- Background in training and orientation program development is a plus.
Entry level, full‑time. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 per year (base).
