Data Modeler

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with 8+ years of expertise in developing and maintaining enterprise data models that align with business requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to create conceptual and logical data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise conceptual and logical data models to align with business needs

• Conduct business requirement sessions with Data Domain Leads, Data Owners, and SMEs to gather and analyze requirements

• Design entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) and define relationships among data entities

• Identify and document entity characteristics, attributes, and properties while ensuring data differentiation

• Maintain version control of data models and ensure documentation is up to date

• Apply normalization techniques for data integrity and optimize for performance through selective denormalization

• Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align data models with application needs

• Create and maintain metadata definitions, data dictionaries, and ERDs

• Engage business users to assess data requirements and ensure alignment with business processes

• Review business processes and conceptualize entities that interact within them

• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in data modeling and database design

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data modeling, database design, and development

• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (Oracle, MySQL, Postgre

SQL, SQL Server)

• Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio

• Strong analytical skills to translate complex business requirements into effective data models

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment

• Experience working with existing models, mapping to data dictionary components, and extending models as needed

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Working knowledge of Data Mesh principles
