Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Principal and Supervisor of Technology, maintains assigned institutional and educational operating systems and software; and performs other job-related duties as required or assigned in accordance with all applicable policies of the Diocese of Phoenix.

Specific Areas of Responsibility
  • Works as Senior IT Network Engineer which will be in charge of designing, analyzing, maintaining and implementing LAN/WAN equipment, and complex Telephony/VOIP issues
  • Responsible for Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, One-Drive and other APPs), Active Directory and Entra , governance, retention policies and maintenance
  • Performs all continuity efforts such as data backups, instant recovery and disaster recovery planning and implantation
  • Point of contact for transitioning all related vendor licensing to Xavier’s Independent Tenant such as Microsoft Licensing, 3cx Licensing, Printer Logic Licensing, ITGlue Licensing, Twingate Licensing, Datto Backups and others.
  • Manages, supervises, coaches and leads the support and help desk team members
  • Troubleshoot basic and advanced software issues, providing support to end-users including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new software solutions to enhance educational processes and administrative efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT and other team members to develop and execute strategies for improving software systems and user experience.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and faculty on the use of various software applications, ensuring effective utilization and adoption.
  • Interact with parents, students, staff, and faculty to address software-related inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
  • Maintain and update documentation, and multiple databases related to software systems, including user guides, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for software vendors, managing relationships and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to departmental initiatives and projects as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum support tools and educational software applications.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as FERPA and/or COPPA.
  • Expert proficiency in Google Workspace, Active Directory, Canvas, Blackbaud, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced ever- changing educational environment.
