L3 Technician- 3+ years of DC experience

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
A side nights:
Same days as above except 6p – 6a
B side Days:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
B side Nights:
Same as Above except 6p – 6a.
Job Brief:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technicians to join our IT team. The Data Center Technicians will be responsible for the break-fix of GPUs, servers, network, and cabling, as well as ticket management (ITSM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.
They should be familiar with interpreting BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for and have a strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies, including copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.
Perform tasks listed under Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 as needed.
- Move servers and switches to required destinations for installation.
- Inspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.
- Install servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.
- Ensure all cables are bundled neatly and in accordance with standards.
- Double-check with network admins to ensure everything is cabled correctly and all connections are up.
- Install additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory).
- Assist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed.
- Audit servers and consumables.
- Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.
- Order replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to their respective vendors.
- Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
- Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
- Assist network admins on any issues they are having with a server, including replacing broken or damaged cables, re-routing cables to different ports on the server or switch, replacing optics on both server and switch ports, changing out parts, and installing upgraded versions of those parts in servers.
- Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations on the device.
- Assist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switches.
- Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Perform break-fix tasks, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution of tickets.
- Serve as the initial contact/liaison between team members and management.
- Prioritize and manage workload across the team.
- Review build documentation before projects and validate any questions or concerns.
- Direct build activities related to data center operations.
- Ensure projects are aligned with data center standards.
- Provide thought leadership to aid with growth across the program.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects with a high degree of stress within the work environment.
- Monitor project deadlines and provide status updates to project managers.
- Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
- Perform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
- Manage tickets using ITSM tools.
- Land fully populated GPU or network racks within the data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.
- Interpret BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for.
- Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures within the data center.
- Handle and install optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.
