Job Title: Project Manager - Custom Software Development (Mid-Senior Level)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)
Employment: Open-Ended Contract
You'll lead software initiatives that directly solve real business problems. Projects span SaaS, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, non-profit, and more.
Although the client base includes startup, enterprise, and public‑sector organizations, the delivery culture is fast‑moving, product‑focused, and startup‑paced. Every engagement is unique, collaborative, and requires strong ownership.
What You'll Do- Own delivery of custom-built applications from discovery through launch
- Develop project plans, technical requirements, and delivery roadmaps
- Partner closely with product and engineering to align on scope and priorities
- Drive sprint execution and ensure consistent delivery quality
- Identify risks early, manage dependencies, and remove blockers
- Communicate timelines, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with UX, QA, Dev Ops, and client stakeholders
- Champion a delivery culture rooted in clarity, speed, and continuous improvement
- 5-10+ years leading custom software development projects
- Experience in startup or high‑growth environments
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and iterative delivery
- Ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable direction
- Skilled at balancing multiple projects and priorities
- Confident facilitator with exceptional communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients across varied industries
