Program Manager
Location:
Phoenix, AZ
Base pay range: $60.00/hr - $65.00/hr
OverviewThe ideal candidate will be comfortable outlining and planning all aspects of work related to a given project such as budget, timelines, and teams. They will have strong communication skills that enable them to effectively communicate with all relevant teams, foresee potential issues, and act in a timely manner to mitigate them.
Responsibilities- Manage key Global Merchant Services Enterprise Top Programs (ETPs) and oversee their execution.
- Operate as part of the GMNST Cross-Platform Delivery & Testing (CPD) organization.
- Create, execute, and track delivery plans for large-scale programs.
- Facilitate and lead technical discussions related to architecture, system design, and solution approaches and document outcomes.
- Drive team- and release-level processes demonstrating servant leadership, domain knowledge, and technical acumen.
- Facilitate program-level planning meetings and Agile ceremonies with delivery teams.
- Execute Program Increment (PI) objectives aligned with strategy, vision, and roadmap.
- Ensure value delivery on behalf of end users.
- Partner with Product Owners and cross‑functional teams to build, prioritize, and maintain product backlogs.
- Support Product Owners by ensuring backlog refinement and readiness.
- Collaborate with Technical Project Managers (TPMs) to coordinate cross‑team dependencies.
- Create metrics‑driven insights using relevant team‑level delivery metrics.
- Track iteration and sprint progress, contribute to design discussions, resolve issues, and remove impediments.
- Encourage and support continuous innovation and exploration.
- Drive Agile team objectives and alignment.
- Provide visibility into gaps, risks, issues, and opportunities across Agile teams.
- Coach teams on Technology SDLC processes, Agile values, principles, and best practices. Inspire teams to continuously improve delivery capacity through retrospectives and feedback.
- Mandatory 5+ years of experience at American Express managing large‑scale enterprise programs.
- Leverage strong Merchant Product knowledge to drive program delivery and testing execution.
