The Systems/LAN Administrator processes and coordinates resolution of help desk trouble calls while administering server infrastructure, implementing patches and security fixes, and monitoring system reliability and availability at the Phoenix Department of Emergency and Military Affairs. The role includes daily server analysis, incident investigation, backup validation, and advanced troubleshooting support for complex technical issues escalated from service desk staff.
Key qualifications:- Knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows OS) on desktop and server platforms
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies, system software, hardware, and networking interconnectivity
- Intermediate troubleshooting skills and ability to perform server builds and lifecycle management
- Strong customer service skills with excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication abilities
- Active IAT II certification such as CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Preferred certifications in VMware or Microsoft Windows Server/Azure
