This role covers escalated tickets and project work across Microsoft 365, Entra , Intune, Active Directory, servers, backups and networks.
This is one of the roles Velocity Technologies recruits for year-round. The job may be with Velocity, or with an organization in the Phoenix area that we recruit for. Most positions are hybrid. We confirm the employer, pay, schedule and benefits with you before any interview.
What you'll do- Resolve escalated tickets involving Microsoft 365, Entra , Active Directory, Intune, servers, endpoints, backups and networks.
- Tighten standards for MFA, patching, endpoint configuration, admin access and backup coverage.
- Work with ISPs and software, firewall, phone and hardware vendors to close issues.
- Help with new-client onboarding, hardware lifecycle planning and project delivery.
- Write troubleshooting notes and runbooks that help the help desk solve more on its own.
- You have solid Windows, Microsoft 365, Entra , Active Directory and endpoint administration experience.
- You have troubleshot server, backup, network and identity problems in business environments.
- You can balance urgent tickets with standards and project work.
- You write clearly for users, coworkers and vendors.
Useful but not required: experience across many small and mid-sized environments;
Intune policy, SharePoint permissions, Defender, Veeam or Datto, and firewalls;
Microsoft 365 Administrator, Azure Administrator, Security+ or Network+. Equivalent experience counts.
$80,000 to $115,000 a year.
The hiring organization sets the exact pay within this range. Benefits depend on the employer, and we confirm them with you before any interview.
How hiring works- A phone call with Velocity about your experience, the role and the pay.
- If it looks like a fit, we tell you who the employer is and confirm pay, schedule and benefits.
- Interviews with the hiring organization, which may be Velocity.
On the first call, expect to talk through questions like these:
- How you would clean up a Microsoft 365 tenant with stale accounts and inconsistent MFA.
- How you document an escalation so another engineer can continue without losing context.
- What you would check before trusting a backup system after repeated warnings.
