Data Analyst Fiber Infrastructure / Project Reporting
Location:
Phoenix, AZ
Schedule:
On-site, 5 days per week
About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing fiber infrastructure organization during a major expansion of its network in the Phoenix market.
The company is building large-scale fiber infrastructure designed to connect major data center campuses and support the rapidly increasing connectivity demands created by hyperscale cloud environments, AI workloads, and other data-intensive technologies.
Phoenix is a major focus of this expansion, with significant new underground fiber infrastructure being developed throughout the market. This is part of a broader investment in next-generation fiber networks supporting the continued growth of data centers and high-capacity digital infrastructure.
This Data Analyst will work directly with the hiring manager and project management team supporting the information and reporting behind these infrastructure projects. As the organization continues to build, there is a growing need to take information coming from project managers, vendors, and different teams and turn it into clean, organized data that leadership can actually use.
What You'll Be Doing
Excel is the backbone of this position.
The team is looking for someone who is genuinely strong in Excel and comfortable taking large amounts of raw or messy information and turning it into structured, meaningful reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
+ Collecting project and vendor data from multiple teams and sources
+ Cleaning, organizing, and manipulating data heavily within Excel
+ Consolidating information from different spreadsheets and project teams
+ Performing regular data extraction and analysis
+ Building and maintaining Excel-based reports
+ Tracking KPIs and identifying trends within project data
+ Comparing planned versus actual project performance
+ Supporting S-curve reporting and project progress tracking
+ Maintaining vendor scorecards and analyzing vendor performance
+ Identifying discrepancies, trends, and potential issues within the data
+ Helping the PM team stay organized and understand where projects stand
+ Turning detailed project information into clear reporting for leadership
What We're Looking For
The biggest priority is strong Excel and data analysis experience.
The ideal candidate will come from a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar background and be comfortable working behind the scenes with large amounts of information.
We're looking for experience with:
+ Advanced Excel
+ Data cleaning and manipulation
+ Excel formulas and functions
+ Excel-based reporting and analysis
+ Working with large or imperfect datasets
+ KPI and trend analysis
+ Dashboard and management reporting
+ Planned-versus-actual reporting
+ Consolidating data from multiple sources
+ Excel macros are a strong plus
+ Tableau or Power BI experience is helpful
+ SQL and Python are nice to have
Telecommunications or construction experience is not required. The priority is finding someone who really understands data, is highly capable in Excel, and can take information coming from different stakeholders and make it organized and meaningful.
Why This Opportunity
This isn't a Data Analyst sitting in the background creating spreadsheets that nobody uses. The reporting directly supports major, real-world fiber infrastructure projects.
The company is investing in new fiber networks designed to connect data centers and support the enormous capacity requirements being created by cloud computing, hyperscale environments, and AI.
As those networks continue to expand, project leadership needs accurate information around construction progress, vendor performance, timelines, trends, and planned-versus-actual results. This analyst will have direct exposure to the hiring manager and PM team and will help provide that visibility.
For someone who loves Excel and analytics, this is an opportunity to apply those skills to a major infrastructure expansion in one of the country's growing data center markets while gaining exposure to project management, vendor reporting, fiber infrastructure, and large-scale network development.
