VP of Risk Management and Insurance

Vaco is partnering with a well-established organization seeking an experienced Vice President of Risk Management & Insurance to lead and strengthen its enterprise-wide risk strategy. This executive will oversee risk and insurance programs, claims administration, and loss prevention initiatives while partnering closely with senior leadership to protect business operations and support long-term growth. This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic leader who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution in a complex, fast-paced environment.

• Develop and execute enterprise-wide risk management strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead enterprise insurance and risk-financing strategies while managing key external partnerships.
• Oversee claims administration and drive timely, effective resolution efforts.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and strategic risks.
• Partner with legal, finance, operations, and executive leadership on risk-related matters.
• Support compliance with applicable insurance, regulatory, and risk management requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Insurance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in risk management and insurance.
• Experience with in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or other project-based industries is highly preferred.
• Experience with in a complex, project-based or operationally intensive organization is highly preferred.
• Strong experience managing broker, carrier, and third-party relationships.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a consistent on-site leadership presence in the Arizona market and work 5 days on-site is required. Must reside in Phoenix or willingness to relocate to Arizona.
• Salary $250k-$285k base with bonus and car allowance
