Join our high-performing legal team supporting one of the most important energy operations in the country the Palo Verde Generating Station as a Senior Attorney specializing in Commercial Law.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll partner closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to shape contracts, support business strategy, and ensure APS’s commercial activities run smoothly. What your day would be like:- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to leaders and project teams, providing clear, business‑aligned guidance on commercial matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements
, including procurement, licensing, vendor, and operational contracts. - Build strong internal relationships by listening, advising, and partnering with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, finance, and engineering.
- Identify legal risks and propose practical solutions that support business goals while protecting the company’s interests.
- Manage and influence commercial strategy throughout the contract lifecycle, from negotiation through execution.
- Collaborate across teams to support corporate initiatives, process improvements, and the rollout of new business practices.
- Experienced Attorney
: 5–8 years of commercial, corporate, or transactional law experience. - Contract Specialist
:
Strong background drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. - Business Partner

Experience in an in‑house legal department or as outside counsel to large organizations is preferred.
- Degree from an accredited law school;
Licensed state bar member in good standing. - May be required to become a member of the State Bar of Arizona.
- PLUS five (5) years of experience with significant exposure to corporate clients and the types of legal issues regularly faced by large public companies.
