We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of litigation. This role involves legal research, trial preparation, calendaring critical deadlines, drafting and proofreading legal documents, managing case files, and assisting with discovery and disclosure requests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibits, witness lists, and jury instructions.
  • Conduct legal research and verify citations using statutes, case law, and legal databases.
  • Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and disclosure documents.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain documents related to discovery and disclosure requests.
  • Calendar and docket court appearances, hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines using electronic calendaring systems and Outlook.
  • Maintain accurate paper and electronic case files in accordance with office standards and policies.
  • Review incoming and outgoing correspondence for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and grammatical correctness.
  • Coordinate with attorneys regarding case status, legal issues, and deadlines.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new legal support staff and provide general litigation support as needed.
  • Use electronic case filing (e-filing), case management, and document management systems proficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned related to litigation support.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on civil litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and trial preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, procedures, and court rules (administrative, state, and federal).
  • Proficiency in legal research, discovery procedures, and file management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, internet research, e-filing systems, and legal case management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paralegal Certificate.
  • Experience with appellate briefs and advanced litigation support.
