General Superintendent – Design-Build Projects

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Salary Range: $90,000–$125,000 (Bi-weekly pay)

Role Summary

The General Superintendent oversees all field operations for multiple design-build construction projects across the Phoenix region. This role provides leadership to up to 3 Superintendents and manages up to 7 projects simultaneously. You will ensure that all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with project scope, jurisdictional requirements, and company quality standards. Projects include Hospitality, Retirement Homes, Multi-Family, and other vertical construction environments.

This leader is responsible for manpower planning, field performance, constructability coordination, risk mitigation, and maintaining strong communication between the field, clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees and supports 3 Superintendents across active projects
• Leads, trains, and mentors Apprentices, Laborers, Foremen, Journeymen, and Superintendents
• Manages all field personnel, workflows, and productivity standards
• Verifies safety certifications and ensures proper tool and equipment readiness

• Supervises field crews and ensures proper installation per scope, codes, means, and methods
• Conducts regular job walks to monitor performance, safety, quality, and schedule
• Ensures all field documentation, forms, and reporting are completed accurately and on time
• Performs material takeoffs, oversees procurement, and validates site inventory

• Manages up to 7 concurrent projects, maintaining schedule alignment and manpower distribution
• Coordinates with utilities, inspectors, engineers, clients, and multi-discipline trades
• Reviews drawings, ASIs, bid documents, and change impacts
• Tracks project budgets, labor hours, material utilization, and jobsite spending
• Maintains daily progress accounting aligned with project schedule and contract scope

• Ensures all work meets jurisdictional codes, quality benchmarks, and compliance requirements
• Schedules inspections and ensures pass-rate readiness through proactive oversight
• Identifies project risks and implements contingency plans
• Management communication on manpower needs, field issues, and schedule constraints
• Participates in corporate project status meetings and design coordination meetings

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Electrical General Superintendent in construction industry
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to read, interpret, and enforce construction documents
