Position DescriptionDirects and supports daily Salvage/Recycling/Sustainability and Salvage Grading operations, provides leadership to operations managers, and drives performance to achieve sales, profitability, and operational targets for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Drives sustainability/recycling practices, minimizes environmental impact and advances sustainability responsibility goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversees multiple departments and executes operational plans to achieve targeted growth in sales, profit, production goals and customer satisfaction as communicated by senior leadership.
- Monitors production performance metrics and implements strategies to achieve departmental goals for revenue, expense control, and operational efficiency.
- Ensures payroll and operational costs are managed to budget across all departments, focusing on resource efficiency and compliance.
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including Team Members, suppliers, customers, investors, and community groups, to foster support and collaboration on sustainability initiatives.
- Makes day-to-day operational decisions across the departments and supports department managers in problem-solving and process improvement.
- Collaborates with senior leadership and other departments to analyze and develop business strategies, pricing, and operational standards.
- Leads strategic evaluation of business opportunities and market changes to anticipate organizational needs and develops innovative solutions to achieve key objectives.
- Establishes partnerships with local communities and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to initiate sustainability projects that positively impact the environment and community.
- Implements and maintains procedures to maximize efficiencies in operations, sales, and customer service.
- Ensures that management team operates according to company standards and procedures relating to Security, Health and Safety; influences any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to Team Members and the business.
- Builds and develops high-performing management teams to maximize departmental performance.
- Partners with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of leaders.
- Ensures that leadership effectively manages performance of Team Members, discussing operational performance problems with Senior Leadership and HR Business Partner (HRBP) to identify causes and issues to work on resolving problems.

- Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.
- Coordinates efforts with various Goodwill divisions, as needed.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years' work experience in Retail Management, preferably thrift.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
