What the Role InvolvesWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Service Manager to lead our local/national service operations and parts department. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Supervise and lead a team of refrigeration technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure optimal performance on service calls and customer requests.
- Perform job-site visits as needed to assist in the installation, troubleshooting, service and repair of Commercial HVAC/R equipment and controls.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance local and national service delivery, boost profitability, and optimize customer retention by leveraging service agreements.
- Manage the parts department, including inventory control, procurement, and distribution of refrigeration components and supplies.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality parts and materials.
- Analyze parts usage and develop strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
- Partner with the leadership team to evaluate business opportunities that drive revenue growth.
- Analyze P&L statements to identify trends, areas for improvement, and actionable strategies to enhance financial performance.
- Implement performance management processes, including regular evaluations and feedback sessions to foster continuous improvement and professional development among staff.
- Partner with HR team to add resources as needed and contribute in the interview process and training of new technicians and warehouse employees.
- Build and maintain classroom training material and training equipment for Commercial Refrigeration equipment and controls products.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Complete all the managerial tasks assigned by Dover for the team along with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- 10+ years experience in Commercial HVACR or Supermarket refrigeration with at least 5 years in a lead/management role
- High School diploma or GED
- EPA Certification, EPA 608 minimum types I and II or Universal Tech Certification
- Strong leadership abilities aimed at boosting team productivity and improving work quality.
- Have a genuine passion for personal development and a commitment to inspiring HVACR technicians and office personnel to achieve greater success each day.
- Able and willing to split time between being hands‑on in the field and office responsibilities.
- Must be capable of reading, writing, and speaking the English language effectively. Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Strong customer service skills and a can‑do attitude are necessary.
- Employee will have access to Company confidential information and must be responsible enough to protect such information.
- Exhibit an in‑depth knowledge and understanding of commercial refrigeration systems.
- Must have the ability and willingness to help mentor and train technicians and office personnel.
