The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents and visitors with more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserves. The parks feature 41 Trailheads and more than 200 miles of trails, and 182 city parks. Additionally, there are 32 community and recreation centers, classes and sports programs for all ages, 29 pools, eight golf courses, and a variety of specialty and cultural venues and facilities.
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to supervise all eight City-owned golf facilities, ensure quality service is provided to the public, and ensure that work is performed in compliance with city policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability for eight exceptional course condition. The Head Golf Professional
* Lead will deliver extraordinary guest experiences, develop high-performing teams, and work closely with facility Head Golf Professionals and the Golf Course Maintenance supervisor to implement city operating policies and procedures, provide excellent value and safeguard city assets.
Pay and Hiring Range: $99,736.00 - $ annually.

- A member of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) or the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA)
- Three years of experience as either a Head Golf Professional or the first assistant to a Head Golf Professional.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
- This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Five plus years of experience serving in senior golf operations roles such as Vice President, Regional Manager, Director of Golf, or General Manager.
- Experience in agronomic planning and golf course maintenance.
- Experience managing facility related financial responsibilities, including budgeting, capital projects, and labor cost oversight
