A CNC Operator, or CNC Machine Operator, is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of manufacturing machinery. Duties include loading, unloading, and inspecting parts during the machining process, ensuring quality of parts produced and achieving production standards. This position may require de-burring, polishing, punching out, and cleaning parts at the machine, and inspecting machinery at the end of each shift to identify parts needing repair.

• Operates CNC machines with routine supervision.
• Performs basic math calculations, including addition and subtraction of decimals; metric to imperial conversions.
• Maintains dimensional tolerances between ±0.0003" - ±0.005" or greater.
• Interprets basic dimensions on a print.
• Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, angle finders/protractors, etc.
• Loads, unloads, and inspects parts being machined while maintaining published PPH.
• Operates a minimum of 1 bar feed lathe, a Mill, plate laser, tube laser, CNC Press brake, CNC mandrel bender, 5 axis CNC router, and performs secondary operations.
• Maintains accurate part counts, fills out Box Tags, and Job/Quantity Tracker.
• Reports to supervisor/lead for assistance with any machining problems.
• Follows documented operator procedures such as inspection check sheets and posted operator notes.
• Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety procedures.
• Can execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction of supervisor or lead-person.
• Produces parts with less than 2% scrap rate on a consistent basis.
• Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance and other duties as directed; practices safe work habits and maintains a clean working environment.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• HS graduate or equivalent.

• No experience required. 1+ yrs. prior experience preferred, working with controls and instrumentation, equipment maintenance.

• Constantly - 6+ hours:
  Stand, Walk, Twist/Turn, Stoop/Bend, Squat, Kneel.
• Frequently - 3 to 6 hrs:
  Lift to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally - 1 to 3 hrs:
  Reach above shoulders.
• Indoor environment; 100% of time.
• Strong odors; high noise (80-100 dB); high vibration.
• Power industrial vehicle hazards; uneven surfaces; working from heights; mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards.
