Lathe Operator - Night Shift (20% Pay differential)

Responsibilities- Setup & operate to produce high precision aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Daily machine maintenance (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc.)
- Maintaining a clean and organized work space
- Tool management, entering offsets to compensate for tool wear and replacing worn and damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, etc.)
- Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols; understand buy‑off requirements, FOD, product identification, and complete required paperwork (MOT, Inspection Travelers, Job Sheets, etc.)
- Maintain correct part counts on the MOT for the operations performed
- Able to hold tolerances of .0002” – .0005” while maintaining high productivity
- Work independently and stay on task—operate two machines regularly
- Problem‑solve and communicate process‑improvement suggestions with management
- Communicate any job‑related issues/questions to lead personnel for resolution or clarification
- Report all machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel
- Familiarity with Mazak machines (a plus)
- Proficient with standard measurement and inspection equipment (Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Sunnen Gauge, Test Indicators)
- Read and interpret B/P’s—including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and other standard nomenclature
- Ability to read and interpret G & M machine codes and program understanding (a plus)
- Experience holding tolerances of .0002” – .0005” and surface finish of 16 (a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, quality‑focused, and eager to learn
- General knowledge of standard shop practices and equipment
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ years’ experience preferred but not required
- Ability to use computer software, company ERP system, and clock in/out of jobs
- Familiarity with Mazak machines (a plus)
- Familiarity with live tooling (a plus)
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the work shift
