- Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in‑process, and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements and quality specifications.
- Uses a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, computer systems, and statistical control processes to perform in‑process, final bench, and product feature inspections and inspection tasks.
- Inspects actual products on the floor and on‑line.
- Performs First Article Inspections (FAI) and conformity inspections.
- Raises notifications of non‑conformance, quarantines non‑conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition.
- Oversight and inspection of parts, materials, and processes.
- Inspects a variety of electronic units using measuring/inspection instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges, and calipers) with proper inspection techniques.
- Reads, interprets, and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation.
- Performs receiving, in‑process, final inspection & 1st article approval of manufactured, assembled, and tested hardware and components.
- Operates computer systems to perform inspection tasks (e.g., Via Search, JD Edwards, One World, Engineering Information System, labor charging).
- Verifies all work order documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Administers visual and physical inspections of units and subassemblies.
- Completes unit shakedowns (when required) to check for foreign objects, rattles, and loose internal hardware.
- Responsible for First Article Inspections and completes related documentation.
- Performs administrative tasks associated with files management.
- Conducts Preliminary Material Reviews (PMR) as needed.
1st
Shift: Monday — Friday, 6:00 am — 2:30 pm
You may occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to meet customer needs.
In your role, you will be exposed to:
Products of various weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, chemicals that may emit fumes.
- Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.
- Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation).
- Must be able to stand for 2‑hour increments without an opportunity to sit.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Transporting product with or without product carts.
- Gained experience with inspection processes.
- Collaborate with OEM services officers for final inspection service processes.
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with calipers.
- Experience navigating SAP or another ERP system.
- Experience with reading blueprints.
- Experience with electronic assembly/inspection in the aerospace industry, preferably 1‑2 years of experience.
- Experience providing feedback to teammates regarding processes.
