Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an EDM Machinist role in Phoenix, AZ. Key Responsibilities:- Operate, set up, and maintain EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire EDM, sinker EDM, or drill EDM machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and part specifications to produce highly precise components.
- Perform accurate in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision measurement tools.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and ensure optimal cutting conditions.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges, electrode wear, and EDM programming issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool usage, and inspection results.
- Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and supervisors to meet production goals and ensure part quality.
- Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of EDM equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
- 2+ years of experience operating EDM equipment (wire, sinker, or both).
- Strong understanding of EDM processes, tooling, electrodes, and machine controls.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and precision specifications.
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments and inspection procedures.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with CNC or CAM programming is a plus.
- Competitive hourly wage of $35–$39 per hour DOE.
