Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an EDM Machinist role in Phoenix, AZ. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest-quality manufactured products. Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate, set up, and maintain EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire EDM, sinker EDM, or drill EDM machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and part specifications to produce highly precise components.
  • Perform accurate in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and ensure optimal cutting conditions.
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges, electrode wear, and EDM programming issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool usage, and inspection results.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and supervisors to meet production goals and ensure part quality.
  • Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of EDM equipment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience operating EDM equipment (wire, sinker, or both).
  • Strong understanding of EDM processes, tooling, electrodes, and machine controls.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and precision specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement instruments and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with CNC or CAM programming is a plus.
