CNC Programmer - Aerospace Manufacturing
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Mill/Lathe Programmer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating multi‑axis CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision aerospace components that meet stringent industry standards. Candidates must be proficient in CAM software, blueprint reading, GD&T, and quality control procedures typical of AS9100‑certified environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop complex CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360).
- Set up and operate CNC equipment to manufacture aerospace components to tight tolerances.
- Interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job.
- Perform first‑article inspections (FAIs) and ensure parts meet AS9100 quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production staff to optimize processes and ensure compliance.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in real time.
- Maintain documentation, setup sheets, and revision history per aerospace regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC programming and setup experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Proficient in G‑code and CAM software (Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360, etc.).
- Strong understanding of aerospace standards, including AS9100, FAA, and NADCAP requirements.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and CMM reports.
- Familiarity with multi‑axis machining, tight tolerances (± 0.0002”), and exotic materials (Titanium, Inconel, aluminum alloys).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience with Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and DNC networks.
- Knowledge of SPC and lean/5S methodologies.
- Experience with tooling optimization and cycle time reduction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
