Job Summary

The Industrial Gas Cylinder Loader and Filler is responsible for loading and unloading delivery trucks, filling high-pressure gas cylinders, and safely handling industrial, medical, and specialty gas products. This role involves operating filling equipment, conducting cylinder inspections, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, physically capable of performing heavy manual labor, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Load delivery trucks for scheduled nightly deliveries and unload empty cylinders upon return.
• Transport empty and filled cylinders to designated filling racks and storage areas.
• Fill high-pressure industrial, medical, and specialty gas cylinders using established pressure and temperature procedures.
• Operate and safely maintain equipment used to pump, transfer, and repackage gases into cylinders.
• Perform required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before releasing cylinders for distribution.
• Inspect cylinders for damage, wear, and maintenance requirements, removing defective cylinders from service until repaired.
• Regularly inspect and maintain filling equipment, pressure gauges, and monitoring devices.
• Fill cylinders and containers to the appropriate pressure or weight according to established specifications.
• Maintain accurate cylinder filling records and follow applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, facility housekeeping, and customer service as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures for handling compressed gases, equipment, and cylinders.

Job Requirements

• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and follow written safety procedures.
• Ability to perform prolonged standing for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to routinely lift and carry 25-75 pounds and occasionally lift 76-100 pounds or more.
• Ability to perform occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and fine finger movements.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to follow established operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
