Join to apply for the Christian Mentor for Youth in Foster Care role at Christian Family Care
.
Founded in 1982, Christian Family Care Agency is a private nonprofit, 501(c)(3) social services agency that provides Adoption, Foster Care, Pregnancy Counseling, along with Child & Family Counseling programs focused on meeting the needs of children and families in Arizona. Christian Family Care is licensed by the State of Arizona, and accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
Our Volunteer Mentor position provides support to a struggling youth or young adult (mentee aging anywhere from 8 to 18 years or older) impacted by the foster care system. The mentor will be a consistent figure and role model offering counsel and friendship. The support mentors provide is tailored to the mentee’s specific needs and is crucially needed to encourage and support them.
This is accomplished by your willingness to meet and build a lifelong connection through one-on-one visits with a mentee. Below are the three main requirements of the mentor program to help meet this need.
- Mentors meet with their mentee a minimum four hours per month
- Mentors commit to at least one year (opportunity to re-evaluate at 90 days)
- Mentors must be Christians in agreement with our statement of faith and either have or be actively looking for a home church
- Must be a practicing Christian and in agreement with our statement of faith
- Actively seeking or have a home church
- Willingness to meet and build a lasting mentoring relationship with a youth or young adult in foster care
