STATUS:Full time/Non-Exempt
Mission Statement:
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Position Summary:
The Youth Ministry Lead is responsible for all youth ministries at The Kroc center to include programming, outreach, and administration assignments. This position will develop and implement a growing evangelism and discipleship ministry targeted specifically to young people of the Phoenix South Mountain and surrounding areas within the framework of The Salvation Army’s programs, policies, and practices. With this in mind, the Youth Ministry Lead will also be tasked with infiltrating the Community Center with the Gospel and will act as a bridge between the Community Center and the Church.

This means the Youth Ministry Lead will be present at Kroc Center activities such as sports league games, after-school programs, and various Kroc Center events. He or she will also be present around the Kroc Center for activities such as open gym, open swim, or in the game room and lobby.
Through this presence, the Youth Ministry Lead will be expected to take advantage of opportunities for personal evangelism, as well as form and grow relationships with those members who frequent these areas. The Youth Ministry Lead will also be responsible for leading devotions for the various Kroc Center sports teams as well as leading prayer at Kroc League games. He or she will also be tasked with creating other avenues to bring the “mission” into after-school and evening Kroc activities, and alongside personal invitations, coming up with attractive ways to bring un‑churched members into the church.
